Software License Terms

Software License Terms

Effective date: 2026-08-30   Version: 1.1.0

This document forms part of the Astalias global legal framework. Astalias is an international software and digital-services platform and is not presented as being directed exclusively to any single country. Mandatory rights and obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted remain unaffected.

1. Scope

These Software License Terms apply to downloadable or installable software distributed by Astalias, including WordPress plugins/themes, Magento extensions, Laravel applications, libraries, command-line tools and related packages. They supplement the Global Terms of Service and any open-source license shipped with the software.

2. Open-source components control

Many Astalias software components are distributed under the GNU General Public License (“GPL”) or another open-source license. For code covered by such a license, that license governs your rights to use, study, modify, copy and redistribute the covered code. Nothing in these Software License Terms is intended to impose a restriction that the applicable open-source license forbids Astalias from imposing.

3. Commercial entitlement is separate from code rights

A purchase may create a commercial entitlement separate from open-source code rights. Depending on the product and plan, the entitlement may include:

  • authenticated premium updates and package delivery;
  • technical support;
  • cloud or hosted functionality;
  • premium APIs, AI or external-service allowances;
  • premium connectors or remotely operated features;
  • access to customer-only downloads, documentation or release channels;
  • a stated number or scope of commercial activations.

Expiry or cancellation of a commercial entitlement can end those benefits but does not revoke rights already granted to GPL/open-source code under its applicable license.

4. License keys and activation credentials

A license key, token or activation credential is an access credential used to verify commercial entitlement. It is not ownership of the software and should not be published or shared beyond the scope permitted by the purchased plan. We may rotate, disable or replace a compromised credential while preserving legitimate entitlement where reasonably possible.

5. Activation limits

If a plan specifies a site, installation, domain, network, user or other activation limit, that limit applies only to commercial services controlled by Astalias, such as authenticated updates, support, cloud APIs or account benefits. Staging, development, localhost or multisite treatment may be defined by the relevant product plan or activation rules.

6. Updates and package delivery

Premium update access is provided only while the applicable entitlement is active unless the product page states otherwise. Update packages may be delivered through authenticated or time-limited URLs. You must not abuse update infrastructure, scrape private repositories, bypass rate limits or distribute private credentials used to access customer-only update services.

7. Existing installed copies after entitlement expiry

Unless a hosted dependency is required for a feature, expiry of a commercial entitlement does not ordinarily disable an already installed copy merely because premium renewal stopped. However, update, support, hosted, API, AI, connector or account-based functionality may become unavailable after entitlement expiry.

8. Third-party and bundled components

Software may contain third-party libraries, fonts, assets, SDKs or other components governed by their own licenses. Notices included with the package form part of the licensing information. You are responsible for complying with those third-party terms when redistributing or modifying covered components.

9. Trademarks, product names and branding

Open-source licensing does not grant a trademark licence. You may make truthful nominative references to Astalias products, but you may not use Astalias names, logos or branding in a way that falsely suggests your modified or redistributed version is official, certified, sponsored or supported by Astalias.

10. Support for modified software

You may exercise modification rights granted by an open-source license, but Astalias support may require reproduction on an unmodified supported release. We are not responsible for defects caused by third-party modifications, forks, conflicts or unsupported environments.

11. Prohibited conduct relating to hosted or private services

Open-source rights in downloadable code do not authorise unauthorised access to Astalias servers, private APIs, customer accounts, update signing keys, hosted datasets, proprietary service credentials or other non-public infrastructure. You must not bypass authentication, quotas or paid-service controls for hosted functionality.

12. Backups and continuity

You may keep backup copies to the extent permitted by the applicable software license. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups and testing updates in an appropriate environment before production deployment.

13. Compliance and regulated deployments

Software may be adaptable for activities that are regulated in some jurisdictions. You are responsible for obtaining any licences, approvals, age-gating, geo-restriction, tax treatment, consumer disclosures or other compliance required for your deployment. The software itself does not constitute regulatory approval.

14. Term and termination

Open-source code rights continue according to the relevant open-source license. Commercial entitlements may expire, be cancelled or be suspended according to the purchased plan, payment status and Global Terms. Serious fraud, credential theft or abuse of hosted services may result in commercial credential revocation.
